The best East Coast drives
Although most of the country's national parks and natural wonders are west of the Mississippi River, the East Coast also contains some hidden treasures. If you live in the eastern U.S. and are looking for vivid scenery that's close to home, there are several drives you can take to fulfill your desires.
Florida's Interstate 75, which runs from the Atlantic to the Gulf of Mexico, will take you through the heart of the everglades. On the eastern side, the cultural center of Miami is within close proximity to the major road.
U.S. Highway 17, which hugs practically the entire eastern seaboard, is particularly fascinating in the Carolinas. On this road you can witness the hectic summer haven of Myrtle Beach, which offers plenty of fun for children and adults alike, as well as the alluring city of Wilmington, North Carolina. Even further north, you can enjoy the splendor of the Outer Banks and the massive dunes of Kitty Hawk.
The entire East Coast is replete with history and culture, especially in the southern states. By taking in the historical landmarks and natural wonders of the East Coast, you and your family will most likely come home with smiles on your faces.
