Making Motor Trend Memories
Amazing American auto museums
America has had a long and storied history surrounding the automobile ever since Henry Ford first introduced the Model T more than a century ago. Here are some car travel tips on two of the most amazing American auto museums around.
Antique Automobile Club of America Museum
Located in Hersey, Pennsylvania, the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum (AACA) displays exhibits of restored vehicles in their historical settings - from '50s T-birds sitting outside of hamburger shops to '20s roadsters traveling down dusty streets. The AACA Museum also features selections from the Museum of Bus Transportation, the largest historic collection in the U.S.
LeMay - America's Car Museum
Soon to be situated on a nine-acre facility in Tacoma, Washington, the LeMay museum will be one of the largest in the world after its scheduled opening in 2012. The museum will also feature donations from the LeMay collection, which set a Guinness Book record with more than 3,500 vehicles. Visitors can see classic cars, motorcycle and trucks from different decades and countries.
